Trade fair GrootGroenPlus has been working with Stichting Nationale Boomfeestdag for over 10 years now; both the trade fair and the foundation aim to get young people excited about green, so the industry can count on more personnel in the future. During every fall edition of GrootGroenPlus, Boomfeestdag offers an interesting contribution to the program. This year, a special educational activity regarding a worm hotel was offered to the children.

Of course, in 2022 Stichting Nationale Boomfeestdag was once again the good cause that trade fair GrootGroenPlus contributed to. And on top of that, the National Celebration of the Boomfeestdag also took place in Zundert, at a special location, on the sustainable Business Centre Treeport (BCT). This business centre is the heart and driving force for the tree nursery region.

400 pupils participating

On 16 November, no less than 400 primary school pupils from the Netherlands and Belgium and 300 grown-ups will join forces to make the terrain of BCT even greener by planting trees together. Trade fair GrootGroenPlus has pledged its contribution of this year to the celebration in Zundert. As usual, they will pledge an amount of 10 Euros per participant of the edition of 2022. 

65 years of Boomfeestdag

In the past 65 years, over 5 million Dutch people (now aged 7 - 75) have planted trees during their time at school, on the Nationale Boomfeestdag. This adds up to a total of 13 million trees, which are all still special to each and every person that planted them. 

The theme of this 65th edition is ‘working (with) trees!' It focuses on the tree nursery industry, since that industry lays the foundation for new trees and forests, both nationally and internationally. A choice that makes sense and that really suits the vision of the trade fair.
