Road Show will be continued at GrootGroenPlus 2018
In 2017, the Road Show was introduced to trade fair GrootGroenPlus, in cooperation with the KVBC. The Road Show contains a selection of novelties from the field inspections, inspections during the expositions, and the star inspections that have been conducted by the KVBC in the last few years. These winners can be given some additional attention through this Road Show. And that proved to be a success, which is why the Road Show will return at GrootGroenPlus 2018, from 3 - 5 October.
The theme of the trade fair being ‘My Favourite Plant!’ meant that people were able to vote for their favourites last year. The winner turned out to be the Hibiscus syriacus 'JWNWOOD4' (Pink Chiffon). The Astilbe Chocolate Cherry (MIGHTY) came in second place, and the Caryopteris clandonensis 'White Surprise' and the Hydrangea paniculata 'Jane' (Little Lime) shared the third place. In total, people could vote for 25 returning novelties.
This year, there will be 28 returning novelties, for the 28th edition of the trade fair. The list with plants for the Road Show will be announced soon. Some of the plants participated last year, but there will also be some new novelties. Of course, all selected plants will be promoted through extensive information (in four languages), which will be available through the website, the app, and in a brochure. Of course, visitors will be able to vote for their favourites again in 2018. Participants can indicate whether or not they grow or trade the specific types.
This year, the Road Show will be rolled out over the trade fair. Last year, it was presented right at the entrance. This year, the visitors will find the returning novelties en route. They will be divided into different groups, placed alongside the red, grey, and blue routes. Of course, the plants can be recognized by their custom designed pot covers and a similar presentation. This will ensure that all the returning novelties get all the attention they deserve.
Of course, the KVBC plays an important role in the Road Show; Ron van Opstal and Sander van Vliet are part of the organisation and work together with GGP to create the best possible setup.
