EPS offers financial incentive to spring fairs in 2019 as well
The positive vibe relating to the first cooperation of the four spring fair in the south of the Netherlands in January 2018 has led Stichting European Plant Support (EPS) to decide to contribute financially to the PR efforts of a new cooperation.
In January 2018, the sales fairs Groenbeurs Haaren, Groenbeurs Brabant Sint-Oedenrode, TreeVention Venlo, and the trade fair GrootGroenPlus Zundert worked together for the first time on PR. Together, they offered (inter)national purchasers the opportunity to purchase a full assortment in just six days. On 12 April, the fairs met up to review this first, tentative cooperation.
One of the most important advantages of the sales fairs is the approachability. The fairs are also hosted at favourable times; there is enough time to talk to visitors, they promote the region, and the atmosphere is cosy. De spring fairs mainly focus on purchasing and sales, while the GrootGroenPlus fair in the fall is larger, and focuses more on maintaining relationships.
All parties were positive about the cooperation. However, they also identified room for improvement and further personalisation. That is why they decided to create a special team prior to 1 May. One or two representatives of each trade fair will take place in this team. It will work on different issues. Examples of these are a recognisable expression of and at each other’s trade fairs and how the representation of the cooperation can be presented at the GrootGroenPlus fall fair from 3 - 5 October. The team that will be created will also be asked to create a comparison of visitors, to consider a joint look, to collect images of all trade fairs, and to start the general (inter)national promotion as soon as possible.
In 2019, the fairs will be held at their own locations, on Wednesday and Thursday in the week prior to IPM Essen (D), on 16 and 17 January. Only TreeVention will be an exception to this rule. Traditionally, TreeVention is hosted on Sunday and Monday, on 20 and 21 January. The fairs will also keep their own logos for now. However, the possibility of a joint pay-off will be considered.
The meeting was very positive, and knowledge, experience, and perspectives were shared freely. With open mind, and without being blind to any future developments and long-term wishes. Parties that are interested in joining this cooperation can send a message to firstname.lastname@example.org.
By continuing the cooperation, 2019 will be another year in which purchasers get the opportunity to buy everything they want in the south of the Netherlands, within just six days. It will give exhibitors the advantage of a large reach at low costs, while purchasers can work more effectively. They only have to travel to region once and get all their purchasing done in one go.
